Marco Simoncelli - Monica Cecchin

On August 24, the “E’ Clay dell’anno” fundraising event was held and the parents of Marco Simoncelli were the guests of honour. The artist Monica Cecchin donated a piece of art of Marco to the Marco Simoncelli Foundation.

Monica Cecchin was born in Alassio in 1970. She lived in Friuli Pordenone where she started on her journey as an artist. In 2011, Monica returned to Alassio to continue to paint.

To create this artwork of Marco Simoncelli, the artist used photos and processed them on to the canvas, before using acrylic paints and other materials to give a three-dimensional look to the photography. Doing so created a new way of thinking about the portrait.

The proceeds of this auction will support the Fondazione Marco Simoncelli Onlus.
