The Prize

This auction is for a beautiful box canvas featuring artwork from Riverside's 2015’s critically acclaimed album Love, Fear and the Time Machine.

The canvas is signed by all four members of the band - Mariusz Duda, Piotr Kozieradzki, Michael Łapaj, and the late Piotr Grudziński, who passed away earlier this year, making this a true rarity and collectors item.

Riverside can be described as a blend of atmospheric rock and metal elements, resulting in a sound similar to that of Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, The Mars Volta, Opeth, Dream Theater, and Tool, while still maintaining an identity of their own. The sixth full-length album, Love, Fear and the Time Machine, was released at the beginning of September 2015 and obtained higher peak sales outside Poland than their previous albums.

Jerry Ewing, editor of the UK's Prog magazine has donated this experience to the Heavy Metal Truants to support Nordoff Robbins, Childline & Teenage Cancer Trust

The Cause

The Heavy Metal Truants is a charity cycling group co-founded by Metal Hammer’s former editor-in-chief, Alexander Milas, and Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood to equally benefit three charities: Childline, Nordoff Robbins and Teenage Cancer Trust. To date, it has raised £338,000.

Now in its fifth year, the cycle ride consists of an annual, three-day, 164-mile pedal from London to the Download Festival, and it’s open to fans, bands, and industry types alike. A component of these fundraising efforts is the annual Monster Rock Auction, featuring rare memorabilia generously donated by the great and good of the rock and metal industry.
