Il Duomo di Milano (Milan Cathedral): a story of emotion and generosity, an extraordinary monument to Milanese creativity.
Century after century, generation after generation of artists and craftsmen have carved and shaped the marble of the Cathedral. Generations have not just helped build this magnificent cathedral, but have helped raise the funds to do so.

The Veneranda Fabbrica, sponsored by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, is writing another chapter in this fundraising project to support the restoration of the Cathedral, "Adopt a Spire". Fashion, a sign of strength and excellence in the world of Milan, helping another of those signs, Il Duomo di Milano.

Thanks go to the brands that have chosen to join the initiative "Fashion helps the Dome" and have generously provided their creations. The charity auction starts from Monday, April 4, and the proceeds will be donated to "Adopt a Spire".

Auction Conditions: This auction allows the user with the highest bid at the end of the online auction to obtain the right to participate by proxy at the La moda aiuta il Duomo on the 19th April 2016 in Milan, where this item will be auctioned. The online auction winner will be able to bid in the live auction and will receive information on how to do this once the online auction has closed. The Cause

La Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo of Milan is the historic, nonprofit organization that maintains the Milan Cathedral on a daily basis. Instituted in 1387 by the will of the standing Signore of Milan, Gian Galeazzo Visconti, it was created to fund the planning and construction of the grand, gothic monument. Today, after over six centuries, it manages not only the architectural and artistic restoration of the Duomo, but also its preservation and promotion through the organization of numerous cultural activities geared towards visitors and citizens.

La Fabbrica also takes care of the management of the Grand Museum, the Musical Chapel, the Archives and the Library, which along with the Candoglia Quarries and the Marble Worker's yard and Duomo work sites, make up the core of the Milanese heritage, as well as the heritage of humanity.

Proceeds from the auction will go entirely to the fundraising campaign: “Adopt a Spire. Engrave your name in history”, founded by initiative of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo of Milan in 2012 with the intent of actively involving all citizens in the protection of the Duomo and its 135 spires. The Duomo: an endless story that needs everyone's help to carry on.
