Pulseras Candela

The story began with Candela, a little girl diagnosed with leukemia, who was treated at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona. A volunteer taught her to make bracelets with colored thread to keep her busy during her long days in the hospital.

Her two friends Mariona and Daniela decided to call these bracelets Candelas. The project foresaw the creation of bracelets to raise funds in the fight against childhood cancer. The response was so positive that friends and family joined in the making of bracelets. Candela formed a new family with the community of patients on the 8th floor: I Chipirones. These children of all different ages share a common reality that makes them very special. Through the production of these bracelets, they have found a pleasant pastime but also an activity that can help other children affected by cancer in the future.
