The Casa Pediatrica of the Fatebenefratelli and Ophthalmic Hospital of Milan, Italy opened in May of 2015 following substantial remodeling to create a pediatric ward with 23 beds.

Famous international artists have painted the ward, donating their talents to give the Casa a colorful, upbeat atmosphere, and making it a "permanent contemporary art gallery," which obtained the sponsorship of the town of Milan and the 2015 Milan EXPO.

Thanks to the generous contributions of private individuals and companies, it was possible to create the functional, technologically advanced and inviting environment which makes the Casa Pediatrica a place designed to welcome children and youth and provide them a homey atmosphere.

This facility is known at the Italian regional and national level, as well as internationally for its Pediatric Division: a medical team committed to offering its young patients the most cutting edge treatment and services on a daily basis. These highly qualified doctors and nurses in this modern, equipped ward welcome international humanitarian cases in which isolation is sometimes necessary. The ward also has a secure area with video surveillance for hosting young people who have attempted suicide.
