Associazione Bimbo Tu APS
Bimbo Tu APS is a Social Promotion Association that, since 2007, has been supporting children, young people, and families facing diseases of the central nervous system (such as tumors, epilepsy, and autism) or psychopathological disorders, including Eating and Feeding Disorders. It does so through an integrated care model that combines welcoming support, psychological assistance, educational and recreational activities, practical services, and collaboration with healthcare and research institutions.
The Association’s work is deeply rooted in the Emilia-Romagna region, particularly in the metropolitan area of Bologna, but its impact extends well beyond regional borders. Every year, hundreds of families from all over Italy find in Bimbo Tu a network of tangible support and a human and professional point of reference during times of great vulnerability.
Impact on children and families
For any child, entering a hospital for a diagnosis or treatment is a traumatic experience. For parents, it often means feeling lost in a world of waiting, complex terminology, and deep fears. Bimbo Tu steps into this rupture, bringing relief, presence, and continuity.
In 2024, the Association welcomed families in hospital wards over 700 times, distributed 287 backpacks between Bellaria Hospital and Sant’Orsola Polyclinic, carried out more than 2,500 hours of creative workshops in hospitals, and ensured the daily opening of the Tribù space for patients’ brothers and sisters. Through these services, we helped reduce anxiety related to hospitalization, fostered a stronger therapeutic alliance between healthcare professionals and parents, and supported the emotional well-being of the entire family unit.
Every intervention has a face, a voice, a story. And in each of them, we rediscover the deeper meaning of our mission: to always be close, whenever and wherever there is the greatest need.
