Tra il 1975 e il 1979, la Spagna vive la transizione politica dalla dittatura franchista all’adozione di un regime democratico nel quadro della monarchia parlamentare. La solidarietà delle forze democratiche italiane per la libertà del popolo spagnolo è sempre stata storicamente forte: dall’impegno nella guerra civile a fianco della repubblica nel 1936-39, alle mobilitazioni per denunciare i crimini della dittatura fino alla fine della transizione democratica. Il manifesto evoca l’immagine di un campo di garofani, richiamando così alla mente la rivoluzione portoghese che qualche anno prima aveva rovesciato il più duraturo regime fascista d’Europa.

The Cause

Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli is one of the biggest European historical, political, economical and social research centers. Founded in 1949, it actively works to rethink the cultural and social role by creating synergies among research, politics and enterpreneurs to make Milan more active and more aware.

Its cultural assets - freely available to everyone - include 1.5 million archived books, with 250,000 volumes and 17,000 magazines, covering a time span from the XVI to the XXI century. This heritage is a muse for the foundation, and it inspires it to live the present being aware of the past and conscious of what brought us here, and to look at the future with different eyes.
