The Prize

One Sporting World is an athlete purpose movement generating funds for good causes. The purchasers will have several Olympians to choose from for this activity.
This is the chance to have a unique group session for friends or colleagues with an Olympian fully qualified to teach hatha, vinyasa, yin, and restorative yoga, the style of yoga can be very much dictated by you, your needs, and what you're feeling that day.

Start by easing ourselves in with a cup of tea and some introductions.
The athlete will share their experiences of the Olympic Games, including some personal behind-the-scenes photos, and talk about what life is like as a full-time elite athlete.

You will then flow through a creative hatha yoga class suitable for any level of yogi, whether you're a complete novice or a regular on the mat.
The Olympians goal will be to find something that feels good for you all and to help you finish feeling better than when you started. At the end, the Olympian will answer any questions you might have, from training and fitness to what it's like to sit on the starting line of an Olympic final or to live in the Olympic Village.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

Yoga mat and access to the internet and screen.

Please note that the Olympians may be busy at the Olympics Games in Tokyo at the moment and therefore not able to schedule the experience before September 2021.

The Cause

Ava Helene Atkinson was born on May 26, 2014, but because she was born so early, she experienced many health issues.

Ava was moved to the neo-natal unit where she was put on a ventilator to help her breathe. Hours later, Ava’s condition had not improved, and after discussions with the consultant it was decided that due to the severity of the health issues she had, we as parents had to make the most devastating decision of our lives, together with the care team, to withdraw treatment. Minutes after coming off the ventilator Ava passed away peacefully with her family around her.

Whilst at the hospital we were given a keepsake box in which we were able to have memories of Ava. These precious memories are there for us to look at and cherish. Her keepsake box has brought comfort to us all, so much so that we have decided we would like to put together our own memory boxes for other parents who have suffered the loss of a child.

We have decided to make these keepsake boxes ourselves and hope that these boxes will be looked at for years to come.
