"We'll Meet Again Quilt"

Measures:1.4 mt X 1.4 mt.
It comes with a modern silver frame and glass front.
It has been signed by 65 famous Ambassadors.
The frame has a very small nick (see photo).

Background on the makers:

Back in 2015, War Veteran Dennis Gimes had a great idea to make a quilt covered with the signatures (now stitched in) of famous celebrities including Dame Vera Lynn, Sir Roger Moore and Joanna Lumley to name but a few. He then donated it to Alabaré Christian Care and Support that incorporates Homes for Veterans and Community Self-Build in order to auction it and to help homeless Veterans.

The quilt has been beautifully made by the London Quilt Makers, backed and framed.

It was signed by 65 people who believe ‘no Veteran should call the street home’, these include people from the world of entertainment (Dame Vera Lynn, Simon Pegg, Richard E Grant, Joanna Lumley) from Politics (Edwina Curry, Rt Hon. Paddy Ashdown, Stephen Harper ex-PM of Canada), sports (Lester Piggott, Alex Stuart, Carl Fogarty, Michael Vaughan) and those who have served (Simone Segonin and Sir Redman Watt). The quilt was also signed by a group of Chelsea Pensioners who served in WW2, along with our beloved Dame Vera Lynn and many well-known and celebrated celebrities.

The quilt will be sold on Friday 10th July to mark 80 years since the start of the Battle of Britain. By buying this quilt, not only you will own a unique collectors item, you will also be supporting those Veterans whose battle is not yet over.

The Cause

We are a charity that supports vulnerable, homeless, marginalised people and Veterans. We help them transform their lives, providing accommodation and helping them gain the skills, confidence and opportunities to live their lives independently.

We are driven by a passion to care for those that are overlooked, neglected, abandoned and made vulnerable by society, in a way that does not judge but rather offers hope and practical care for those who need it most.

Alabaré believes that if we work together, we can achieve our vision of a society where everyone has the opportunity to live a fulfilling life. Alabaré supports rough sleepers, young parents and their babies, vulnerable women, adults with addictions, mental ill-health, and learning difficulties, young people leaving the care system, and Veterans. Each year Alabaré supports around 2,000 people by providing a safe home and support through 90 Homes and Services in the South West, South and throughout Wales.

Alabaré is the largest provider of homes for Veterans outside of London, with 23 homes in eleven areas in the South, South West, and Wales. Alabaré must raise £815,000 to support the vulnerable and homeless Veterans gain the skills, opportunities and confidence to live transformed lives outside of the military community.
