AM Cassandre Wagons Lits Cook Poster 1933
Art Deco poster dated 1933, created by the world’s greatest poster artist ‘Cassandre’, and printed by Alliance Graphique of Paris. The Wagons Lits Cook World Travel Service was formed in 1927 when British travel company Thomas Cook & Son was acquired by the Belgian railcar manufacturer Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits, operator of the famous Orient Express.
About the Artist
Adolphe Mouron Cassandre is one of the 20th century's largest poster artists.
As a trained artist and poster designer, A.M. Cassandre very conscious of his use of style, and his style is tight, graphic and inspired by Cubism and Art Deco.
