The Prize

The owner of the winery, Luigi Seracca Guerrieri, will accompany you on a tour of the winery and estate. Castello Monaci is located in Salice Salentino (LE), and the imposing fortification dates back to the first half of the sixteenth century. Today its noble elegance makes it a prestigious location for events.

The tour will start with a walk along the aromatic herb path and a visit to the native vineyards of Primitivo and Malvasia Nera di Lecce, before moving to the winery. Your tour will continue at the Wine Museum with the tasting of 6 wines paired with typical local products and will end with a visit to the castle. This special experience will draw to a close with a candlelit lunch or dinner in the charming private top floor suite with a personal waiter.

Please note: The experience is valid for two people and will take place within 1 year of auction closing, reservation is required and is subject to availability.

In addition, you will receive a 1.5 liter magnum of Primitivo Artas 2008.

Artas has brilliant and intense ruby red color; scent very distinctive, complex and ethereal, with strong hints of fruits of the forest in perfect harmony with sweet balsamic notes and aroma of roasted coffee. The flavor is full, warm, soft, very enveloping, with soft and elegant tannins. It closes with a nice background of red fruit.

The wine is made from hand picked grapes in the early hours of the morning, in the warm and sunny vineyards around the winery of Castello Monaci. In the cellar the product just pressed is immediately cooled and kept cold for a few days in order to preserve all the intrinsic characteristics of the primitive. The wine, with a maceration of about 15 days, is characterized by a wise use of frequent pumping, but not intrusive and a skilful use of temperatures games: everything gives the wine an elegant and modern at the same time. The product, after malolactic fermentation is left to mature about 6 months in small oak barrels and 6 months in large barrels. Then follows an aging of 6 months in glass.

Please note: The minimum age for alcohol consumption varies from country to country.
