Miljenko Bengez was born in Zagreb in 1954. He took up painting in the Eighties after attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. Bengez interprets the world around him by referring to the European lyric tradition from Cézanne to Klee, but also uses the languages ​​of other movements such as Cubism, Expressionism and Tachisme. Bengez lives and works in Zagreb.

An artist fascinated by travel, he first stayed in Florence and then in New York where he collaborated with “S. E. Feineman Fine Arts ". He remained in the Big Apple until 1995, when he returned to Europe. In 1997 he collaborated with the Milanese gallery "L’incisione". To date Bengez has exhibited in over 50 solo shows and taken part in numerous collective exhibitions.
