Born in Merano on December 12, 1951, Marcello Joriwas one of the main players in the Italian art scene, participating in three Venice Biennials, the Paris Biennial, and two Quadriennials in Rome. His works are on display in galleries and museums throughout the world including the Gallery of Modern Art in Rome. 

Marcello Jori's career started in Bologna in the early 1970s, working in photography, painting and writing. From the very beginning, he pursued a project of total art. From the 1980s, following a period in which he dedicated himself to painted writings which made words a running theme throughout his career, he started producing crystals, precious gemstones, containers of energy and light, geometries that would lead him to repaint the whole world in his style. 

In the 1990s he participated in the "Psycho" exhibition organised by Christian Leigh, Adrian Dannatt and Donald Kuspit, an an important exhibition of four with Dan Flavin, Sol LeWitt and James Croak, in the Kunst Hall of New York. He has a personal exhibition in the Art Institute in Boston.
