The Prize

Don't miss this fantastic experience, valid for five people. You will have the chance to go for a bike ride with the Italian former professional cyclist Claudio Chiappucci.

Born in Uboldo on February 28 1963, "El Diablo" Chiappucci won the Milano-Sanremo race, the Tour de France three times and the Giro d'Italia once, reaching the podium three times in the Giro D’Italia classifications and three times in the Tour de France classifications. He was also awarded Silver Medal in the Elite Men's Road Race World Championships.

Your tour will start from Tradate, in the Varese area, or another nearby area and will take in the splendid Varesotto countryside, including the roads used for the Tre Valli Cup, the Bernocchi Cup and the Varese World Championship that took place here in 2008.

This experience will take place within six months from the auction closure, according to availability of the prize winner and Chiappucci. Those who take part are required to bring their own bicycle.

The Cause

Amici per il Centrafrica ODV is a non-religious association created in 2001 for proactive participation in helping people who live in poverty. This nonprofit organization helps the people of the Central African Republic, especially those experiencing greatest hardship in Sub-Saharan Africa. It offers them instruction, healthcare and training for employment so that they might become fully self-sufficient.

The association is made up of volunteers who help both in Italy and Africa. It receives funding from various sources, including individuals, private businesses, banks, foundations, public bodies and schools. It believes that the improvement in living conditions of people all over the world is everyone's responsibility.

Growth and lifting the limits of development are stimulated through educating people and raising awareness about existing opportunities. Healthcare emergencies, widespread poverty due to political, social and structural instability, and the lack of attention toward defending minorities all impair the people of Central African countries in building solid bases for planning their future.
