Francesco Totti is a retired Italian professional footballer who is considered one of the greatest players in the history of Italian football. H

He played as an attacking midfielder or forward and was known for his vision, creativity, and technical ability on the ball. He spent 24 seasons with AS Roma, scoring 307 goals in 786 appearances across all competitions, making him the club's all-time top scorer and appearance maker. Totti won the Serie A title with Roma in 2001 and also won the Italian Cup twice and the Italian Super Cup twice with the club.

The Cause

In February 1987, leukaemia claimed the life of 14-year-old Paul O’Gorman. Within weeks of his death, Eddie and Marion started fundraising.

Just nine months later, another devastating blow struck the family when Paul’s sister, Jean, was also killed by cancer.

In November 1987, just days after Jean’s death, their parents, Eddie and Marion O’Gorman, met Diana, Princess of Wales. Deeply moved by the double tragedy, she personally helped to establish this charity.
