The Library Suite.

Gracefully overlooking the Grand Canal, on the right side of the Portego, the Library boasts the honor of having been recognized as a National Monument.
The upper part has a long gallery with a wooden railing made up of white and golden columns.

Above the imposing eighteenth-century wardrobes in white and light green wood, with carved and gilded decorations, the letters of the alphabet can still be clearly read.
The room located on the right of the Portego still houses the splendid library built at the beginning of the eighteenth century by Zaccaria Sagredo, to house his rich collection made up, according to an inventory dating back to 1762, of over 2000 printed books and 309 manuscripts; it should also be noted that a part of the volumes had already been disposed of by 1750 via the publisher Albrizzi.

The splendid work is completed by a suite on the upper floor, to which the Library Suite is connected thanks to a ladder hidden in one of the wardrobes.
A place of study, culture and intellectual discussion, the Library inspired Galileo Galilei to develop his famous "The Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems": a scientific conversation between Salviati, Simplicio and Sagredo. He was clearly inspired by Giovan Francesco Sagredo, a close and esteemed friend to whom the scientist dedicated many letters and works.

Venice 1600
Galilei's great affection for his friend Gianfrancesco Sagredo became clear with his important work "The Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems".
