About the artist

Franz Borghese (Rome, January 21, 1941 - Rome, December 16, 2005) was an Italian painter and sculptor, one of the protagonists of Italian painting of the second half of the twentieth century.

In his work he represents a turn of the century bourgeoisie, with an ironic and fantastic vein which, the more sharp and bitter it is, the closer and more empathic it is to human weakness, through a language and poetics that rise to a universal metaphor.
