The Sant'Orsola Foundation, in accordance with the Polyclinic, has set up a fundraising campaign to support hospitals in Bologna and health workers working in the Coronavirus emergency to take daily care of patients and by collecting donations from citizens, businesses and other entities.
The funds needed to set up new places in intensive care units are currently being covered by the Civil Protection. Therefore first projects will be aimed at providing services (such as babysitting bonuses or home shopping vouchers) that will offer concrete help to doctors, nurses and health operators who are working on the front line to safeguard the health of us all.
Chiara Gibertoni, general director of the University Hospital of Bologna, says: "The Sant'Orsola Foundation has set up an important campaign that we fully endorse and will help to get to come back even stronger that before thanks in part to the renewed relationship between the city and its hospitals”. The projects will aim to tackle the emergency, but also permanently improve the working conditions of doctors, nurses, health workers and technicians who take care of us every day.
“We want to tell them that the gratitude that we show today will not disappear. We may have taken the value of their work for granted in the past and we don’t want to do it anymore”, concludes President Faldella.
