SARA COLAONE

Sara Colaone is a comic book author, illustrator and teacher. Among her works, Georgia O'Keeffe, Amazone dearte moderne, Evadées du Harem, Ti Ho visto (Pelledoca, 2019), In Italia sono tutti maschi (with Luca de Santis, Kappa ed. 2008, Oblomov 2019 - Best Comics, Micheluzzi 2009), Ariston (Oblomov 2018), Anna e la famosa avventura nel bosco stregato (with Luca Tortolini, Bao Publishing, 2018) and Leda (with Francesco Satta and Luca de Santis, Coconino Press 2016), with which she won the prestigious Gran Guinigi at Lucca Comics & Games 2017. She teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and collaborates with the MOdE - Museum of Education of the University of Bologna. For the magazine "Nuovi Argomenti" she curates the section dedicated to comics.

Dolci is a figure who shuns any classification: poet, educator, activist, sociologist, protagonist of the non-violent struggles against the mafia. After a short trip to Sicily he decided to return. Renamed as the "Ghandi of Sicily", his activism and revolutionary approach earned him two nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize. Creator of a popular movement that went down in history with the expression of "reverse strike", Dolci was convinced that no real change could be separated from the involvement and direct participation of those concerned, a real lever for common and shared growth.

Nata in Calabria nel 2005, daSud è un’associazione di promozione sociale da sempre impegnata nel contrasto socio-culturale delle mafie, nella promozione dei diritti, nel rilancio delle periferie e nella sperimentazione di un nuovo modello educativo.

Dal 2009 opera a Roma dove nel 2016 ha lanciato il progetto educativo, sociale e culturale di ÀP, l’Accademia Popolare dell’antimafia e dei diritti che ha preso vita, a marzo 2017, all’interno degli spazi sotto-utilizzati di una scuola della periferia sud-est della Capitale (l’IIS Enzo Ferrari di Cinecittà/Don Bosco): un luogo generativo e inclusivo contro la dispersione scolastica e per la riattivazione del territorio che oggi ospita una biblioteca, un cinema, un teatro, una radio e uno spazio per i più piccoli aperti alle scuole del territorio e alla città.

daSud si distingue per le produzioni culturali, le campagne come strumento di denuncia e sensibilizzazione, le proposte concrete per una buona governance dei territori e per un’antimafia delle opportunità e i percorsi di formazione con i daSud Lab. A Roma ha aperto la Mediateca Giuseppe Valarioti, la prima su mafie e antimafia, e fondato la web radio RadiodaSud.

Tra le sue ultime iniziative ci sono “Mai dire mafia”, l’inchiesta partecipata per mappare il potere criminale a Roma, e il protocollo “Roma Senza Mafie”, promosso con Avviso Pubblico, in occasione delle amministrative del 2021, per un impegno concreto dell’amministrazione comunale contro mafie, criminalità e corruzione nella Capitale.
