The Prize

CharityStars presents a collection of 15 artworks that lead us in an exceptional modern and contemporary art tour. Of these, 11 are unique and original pieces that come from prestigious private collections. Foundamental is the presence of Fausto Melotti with a gypsum artwork. Then Adami, Pisani Baratella, Rapetti Mogol, Caffé, Cascella, Raimondi, Aulestia, Gonzaga e Del Vecchio, in a fascinating mix of artists between the 19th and 20 Century. In the end, some beautiful exemples of multiplied art from Oldenburg, Rotella, Henry and Topor.

Mixed media on paper. Year 1980. The dimensions are 37x49 cm. It is a typical portrait of Salvador De Aulestia (Barcelona 1915 - Milan 1994). Founder of the movement apotista, De Aulestia is, with Miro, Dalì, Tapies and Picasso, one of the mythical "Los cincos", the five great Spanish artists of the twentieth century. Much appreciated in the United States, he had among his collectors several Hollywood stars, such as Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando and future President Ronald Reagan He represented Spain at the Venice Biennale in 1968 with a solo show, and starred in a series of exhibitions to four hands with Salvador Dali. Also appreciated as a sculptor, De Aulestia is the author of the largest sculpture in the world of wrought iron, El Sideroploide, of 60 meters long and 17 high, located in the port of Barcelona.

The Cause

Nobel a Mogol (NaM), or Nobel to Mogol, is a nonprofit organization founded by three friends, Nanco Paoletti and journalists Milo Goj and Nestar Tosini. For years they have interpreted and studied the lyrics of the late, famous Italian singer Lucio Battisti, whose songs were written by Giulio Rapetti Mogol. Mogol has also written songs for many other Italian singers that have become great successes over the past 50 years: from Bobby Solo to Little Tony, Riccardo Cocciante and Adriano Celentano.

As they studied Mogol's songs, the three literati reached the conclusion that many of his texts were in all regards authentic poetry. If poetry means turning feelings, moods and states of being into words, then Mogol is certainly a great poet. Such verses as, "When sadness falls upon the depth of your heart, like the falling snow it make not a sound," leave nothing to be desired. They are right on par with even the most well-known and appreciated "traditional" poetry. He has written so many of such verses that a publication of them should be made.

Mogol is therefore a great poet whose works match up to those of other Nobel prize authors. The Nobel to Mogol Association aims precisely at persuading public opinion to create a movement to nominate Giulio Rapetti Mogol for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
