Ron Arad's Special Limited Edition PizzaKobra Lamp
Calling this a table lamp is a total understatement.
PizzaKobra, the dream light by iGuzzini designed by Ron Arad, is the synthesis, transformation and expression of the creative potential of the future.
The most striking aspect is its strong attitude toward change; it is nearly unnoticeable when you first encounter it and then so visible in its fluid design and flexuous aluminium bent in order to follow the shape. Everything is dominated by the playful trademark of Ron Arad.
PizzaKobra is strongly innovative, and because of this it has been chosen many a time, for instance: to fly from Recanati to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City to join some of the most impressive items of design created by Ron Arad; to be included among the 100 best design objects in 2007 and to be exhibited at the London Design Museum until April 27th and to be part of the design icons selected to be published in the book 1000 Interior Design for The Home by the co-founder of the London 100% Design.
Issey Miyake has chosen PizzaKobra for his exhibition in Japan “21_21 Design Sight – XXI Century Man,” and even before him Dolce & Gabbana used it for the presentation of the 2008 men/women collection in Milan.
Two awards further confirm the great success of PizzaKobra: the Red Dot “best of the best” awarded for the design category and the prize given by the German magazine AIT in the category “architecture and innovation” in the Innovation Architecture and Technical Systems contest.
