Karel Poborský is a Czech sports manager and former footballer who played as a midfielder. After his debut at home, where he won a title with Slavia Prague, in 1996 he was bought by Manchester United. In a season and a half with the Red Devils he won a championship and two Community Shields. He then moved on to Benfica, where he played for three years, before playing for Lazio in the 2001/02 season. He then returned to his home country to Sparta Prague, ending his career in 2007 at České Budějovice. With the Czech national team he racked up 118 appearances and 8 goals.
