Recognized at the 69th Monaco Red Cross Gala held on July 28th 2017, Pinelli embraces an arch of time of over forty years. In its various forms, his art has maintained a constant reflection on the infinite possibilities of painting. As a young student, his creativity was shaped by the influences of Lucio Fontana's art. His personal tone began to emerge in his artwork at the beginning of the '70s when he began his inquiry into non-Euclidian geometry. From there, a process of subtraction began, up until the deconstruction of the concept of the frame, where the wall becomes part of the work of art; it is then created in monochrome and declined in various shades. His works are displayed in galleries and museums at the international level.

The Cause

GLUT1 deficiency syndrome is a rare genetic disease caused by mutations in the SLC2A1 gene. This gene provides instructions for producing a protein called the glucose transporter protein type 1 (GLUT1). It is responsible for transporting glucose to the brain. When the brain is deprived of its main source of fuel, brain development and functioning are affected. Patients suffer from epileptic seizures, motor disorders and cognitive defects.

The Associazione Italiana GLUT1 Onlus is committed to helping all those affected by this disease.
