Andrea Pirlo (born 19 May 1979 in Flero) is an Italian football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. He was world champion in 2006 and European vice-champion in 2012 with the Italian national team. He is considered one of the greatest midfielders of all time as well as one of the greatest playmakers in the history of football and four-time canditate for the Ballon d'Or. He played for Brescia, Inter and Reggina before moving to AC Milan, where he became a permanent fixture in the tactical line-up of manager Carlo Ancelotti winning two league titles, an Italian Cup, an Italian Super Cup, two UEFA Champions Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups and a FIFA Club World Cup over the course of ten years. From 2011 to 2015 he played for Juventus, where he won four league titles, two Italian Super Cups and one Italian Cup.
