The Prize

"Oltre la speranza" by Stefano Piali.

Features:

- Technique: Red chalk on card
- Size: 50x70 cm

Born in Rome on 28/01/1956, he started showing a need for self-expression through drawing and painting from adolescence.

He started his studies in the Art College of Via Ripetta, and in 1978 graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome where he further studied sculpture under the guidance of Maestro Pericle Fazzini.

He decided to settle in Milan, where for many years he has taught in the Plastic Disciplines Faculty of the Paolo Mercuri Art Institute with a temporary similar experience at the Cesare Battisti Art College in Velletri.

His first exhibition was in 1983, marking the beginning of an intense expressive journey through painting and sculpture.

His inspiration by the great Masters of the past such as Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Tiepolo and Dalì, would help him form a clear artistic personality and personal expressive identity.

The artist dialogues with the various matters, ranging from marble, to bronze, clay and resin to then pass over to painting with the same naturalness.

The themes on which the artist prefers to reflect and in which he is most interested were clear from his very first pieces.

Metamorphosis, movement and flight, heroes, centaurs and knights are the protagonists of a journey to the unconscious, an infinite journey in the search of new dimensions.
