Alfons Maria Mucha (Ivančice, 1860 – Praga, 1939) è stato un pittore e uno scultore ceco, tra i principali esponenti dell’Art Nouveau. Mucha può essere ritenuto uno dei precursori dell’arte grafica, visto che in molte delle sue opere, realizzate per pubblicizzare spettacoli o prodotti, oltre ad una notevole capacità ritrattistica è evidente l’attenzione alla decorazione dello spazio volta a creare manifesti di grande eleganza e dallo stile inconfondibile.
