Luciano Spalletti (Certaldo, 7 March 1959) is an Italian football manager, manager of Napoli. After his career as a footballer ended in 1993, he embarked on a career as a coach. From 1994 to 1998 he was coach of Empoli, leading the team to promotion to Serie A and winning a Serie C Italian Cup. From 1998 to 2002 he coached Sampdoria, Venice, Udinese and Ancona. From 2002 to 2005 he returned to Udinese, leading the team to a historic fourth place in the 2004-2005 season. In 2005 he was signed by Roma, where over the course of four years he won two Italian Cups and an Italian Super Cup. From 2009 to 2014 he managed Zenit St. Petersburg, winning two Russian championships, a Russian Cup and a Russian Super Cup. After returning to the Roma bench in 2016 and 2017, he coached Inter in the 2017-2019 two-year period. He has been the coach of Napoli since 2021, winning the Scudetto in 2023. On an individual level, he has been awarded the Golden Bench once.
