The Prize

You and a guest will enjoy two (2) premium orchestra seats to 50 Years Over the Rainbow: A Judy Garland Celebration with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) Pops on Friday, June 28 or Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 8:00PM in the Concert Hall at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.. The concert is to be conducted by NSO Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke joined by Broadway stars Tony® nominee Laura Osnes (Bonnie and Clyde, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella) and Capathia Jenkins (Newsies, The Musical), and singer-songwriter/Pink Martini vocalist Jimmie Herrod.

Marking half a century to the week since the entertainment world lost one of its greatest treasures, the NSO Pops will commemorate the immortal music and extraordinary cultural impact of Judy Garland—star of The Wizard of Oz, Easter Parade, Meet Me in St. Louis, A Star Is Born, and countless more.

A backstage meet and greet with Steven Reineke, Capathia Jenkins, and Laura Osnes will immediately follow the performance. Additionally, complimentary cocktails and access to the Kennedy Center’s exclusive Circles Lounge will be made available for your enjoyment before the performance and at intermission.

The Cause

The New York Pops is the largest independent pops orchestra in the United States and the only professional symphonic orchestra in New York City specializing in popular music.

Led by Music Director Steven Reineke, the orchestra performs throughout New York City with an annual subscription series at Carnegie Hall and a summer residency at Forest Hills Stadium.

The New York Pops hosts fundraisers throughout the year in support of the orchestra and its PopsEd education programs, which reach more than 5,000 New York students each year.
