The Prize

Richard Wayne Van Dyke (West Plains, December 13 1925) is an American actor, comedian and showman.

He owes his fame above all to the film Mary Poppins (1964), in which he played the roles of Bert (the chimney sweep friend of the Mary Poppins) and the elderly bank manager, Mr. Dawes. In the 1990s, he starred in the television series Diagnosis: Murder in the role of Dr. Mark Sloan. Over the course of his career he has won a Tony Award, a Grammy Award and five Emmy Awards, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013 from the Screen Actors Guild.
