The Prize
Colnago yellow jersey unworn and signed by champion Tadej Pogačar.
The yellow jersey (French: Maillot jaune) was introduced to the Tour de France in 1919. The original idea was to have the leader of the general classification wear a distinctive jersey. The rider with the best overall time at the end of each stage receives a yellow jersey and wears it during the next stage. The rider who receives the yellow jersey at the end of the last stage in Paris is the winner of the Tour de France. Tadej Pogačar won it in the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Grande Boucle.
Tadej Pogačar is a Slovenian-born professional cyclist who rides for Team UAE Emirates, born in Komenda on 21 September 1998. At 22, he has just become the youngest cyclist in Tour de France history to win the race twice (in 2020 and 2021). The Tour is considered to be the toughest and most important stage race in the world reserved for professional cyclists.
