The match, played at the Estadio San Mamés in Bilbao on 16 May 2021, ended 1-0 for Los Blancos.

Thibaut Nicolas Marc Courtois is a Belgian footballer, goalkeeper for Real Madrid and the Belgian national team. Considered one of the strongest goalkeepers of his generation, he was named the best goalkeeper in the world by the IFFHS in 2018 and 2022. He made his debut with Genk, winning a Belgian championship and a Belgian Cup. Purchased in 2011 by Chelsea, he was immediately sent on loan for three seasons to Atletico Madrid, winning a Spanish championship, a Copa del Rey and a UEFA Europa League. After returning to England, he won two English championships, an FA Cup and an English League Cup with the London club. In 2018 he was purchased by Real Madrid, winning two Spanish championships, a Copa del Rey, two Spanish Super Cups, a UEFA Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup and a Club World Cup.
