The Prize

Take home this white England home shirt worn by former Manchester United legend Sir Robert Charlton for a match against Brazil played on the 2nd match day in Group 3 of the 1970 World Championship.

The game was played on June 7, 1970 at the Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara and ended in a 1-0 win to Seleção thanks to a goal by Jairzinho.

At the end of the match this shirt was swapped with Brazilian forward Paulo César Caju and belonged to the former Botafogo and Santos player Afonso Celso Garcia Reis for many years, also a relation of Caju.

Born in Ashington on October 11, 1937, Sir Robert Bobby Charlton is a living legend of English football. World champion in 1966 with England and European champion in 1968 with Manchester Utd, he was awarded the Ballon d'Or in 1966.
