Vintage record preserved in its original sleeve. This 33 rpm is still in working order.
After graduating at the age of 23, from 1932 he devoted himself to pop music as a pianist in renowned European clubs, traveling to Barcelona and Paris. In 1939 he returned to Hungary to be with his family where during the last year of the war he was imprisoned in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp and later freed by the Allies in 1945.
From 1953 to 1956 he recorded the long-running and highly successful series "Echoes of ..." for Vox, which began with "Echoes of Paris", performing famous melodies from all over the world. In 1957 he recorded his only two discs with an orchestra, inspired by Cole Porter and Jerome Kern. He also recorded for RCA and Decca and even performed Gershwin for Vanguard.
