One evening in Ischia, in August 1958, the group was spotted by an executive of the Milan record company Carisch, who was there on vacation and decided to offer them a recording contract. On 26 September the five musicians left for Milan in a Fiat 1100 to record ten songs suggested by the record company, almost all of which the group had already performed in the clubs and certain hits.
Mario Cenci then suggested changing the name of group, saying to Peppino: "Since your name is Peppino and you come from Capri you'll be called Peppino di Capri". The full name of the band then became Peppino di Capri e i suoi Rockers.
Record company: Carisch.
