The Prize

Match issued Test jersey, signed and worn by Iain Henderson for the official Lions 2021 squad headshots on player meeting day - the first time players meet ahead of the Tour and the day they wear the official kit for the very first time.

Capable of playing in both the second and back row, Henderson’s adaptability has earned him selection for his second British & Irish Lions Tour. The then 25-year-old earned his first Lions call-up for the 2017 Tour to New Zealand and wore the famous red jersey on six occasions.

Henderson enjoyed a whirlwind rise on the international scene, first starring for Ireland Under-20 at the Junior World Championship in 2012. He had made his Ulster debut earlier that summer against Connacht and before the year was out he was a full international, coming off the bench to face South Africa in November 2012. Iain came off the bench in another three games during the 2013 Six Nations before earning his first Ireland start that summer. Having been given the nod at blindside flanker against the USA, he started there again against Italy in the 2014 Six Nations and remained a regular fixture in Ireland match day 23.

By the 2015 Rugby World Cup, Henderson was starting regularly in the second row, including in the quarter-final defeat to Argentina. Henderson missed the 2016 Six Nations but returned against South Africa the following June. Strong performances against Wales, France and England in the 2017 Six Nations booked his place on the 2017 Lions Tour.

Since returning, Iain has remained a key man for club and country, winning his third Six Nations title with Ireland as they secured the 2018 Grand Slam.
