The Prize

"Linguaggi universali #20" by Emanuele Moretti.

  • Technique: mixed media on 100% natural cotton paper
  • Dimensions: 100 x 70 cm
  • Year: 2020

Emanuele Moretti was born in Avezzano in 1988. In 2012 he successfully concluded his course of study at the European University of Design in Pescaa. Subsequently, he began to attend the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, graduating with full marks in 2018 with a thesis focused on the phenomenon of Entanglement, research of Quantum Physics, with Prof. Cristina Reggio.

His creative activity has taken shape over the years, particularly on the academic path that allowed him to deepen his artistic studies and also develop a completely innovative and daring pictorial form. Despite not yet having any training experience in the technical field, at a very young age he began a completely personal study focused on color, which allowed him to use unconventional products in his works, thus experimenting with the combination of new materials with pigments, oil colors and acrylic paints.

In his works we perceive the need to slow reality down, pausing to reflect on those important moments that life offers us and that can be lost in a moment. He starts by working with the "fragments", the pieces of color that represent past, present or future moments and that evoke more or less happy memories.
