Born in Udine in 1985, Mara Navarria is a fencer and 2018 world champion, Olympic medalist in Tokyo 2021 and recipient of the Gold Collar for Sporting Merit.
She began fencing as a child as an alternative sport to canoeing, quickly falling in love with the discipline and going on to win her first titles.
After becoming mother to Samuele in 2013, Mara came back to compete at the highest levels, reconciling sports and parenting life. A lover of cooking and traveling, she has always stayed close to her roots in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
