Ruggero Merlini was born in Milan in 1962, and his relationship with art would start early, thanks to the painting courses at the "G. Cova" art school in Milan with Prof Ugo Zanoni and participating in the students' exhibition at the same school.

In 1989, he participated in the collective at the "81 Più" studio in Milan. He won the Gran Trofeo "Amici del Quadrato", V edition, asbolute winner. Then the Trofeo del Po, III prize and in the meantime graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan.

The 1990s and 2000s are marked by numerous personal exhibitions and participations in regional and national competitions: a personal exhibition at the "Valdina" university library in Milan, and he won the II Gran Premio Internazionale in "Pittura, Colore e Calore" in Milano Centrale, diploma of honour.

He took part in the XVIII art collection "Miniquadro '93" at the "Galleria Eustachi" in Milan.

He participated in the I and II Competition of the National Painting Exhibition A.S.L.A.I. in Brescia. A personal exhibition at the Cassa di Risparmio bank in Alessandria in Valenza Po. XXII edition of the International Epiphany Competition, VI prize. Exhibition-COmpetition of Painting and Art in Pieve Emanuele. Participation in the "Il Duomo incontra l'Arte" exhibition supported by the Municipality of Milan. He was mentioned in the magazine "Rassegna artistica-letteraria A.S.L.A.I.".

A collective with the support of the Councillor for Tourism in Dimaro, Prix International d'Art "Le Bugatti" in Paris. He participated in the "Euroart" art exhibition. 3rd place in the national Gran Trofeo "Omaggio a Proferio Grossi" competition. He particopated in the national "A.S.L.A.I" competition, with honorable mention.

L’ARTE PER L’EMERGENZA POVERTÀ

Dall’Emergenza Sanitaria all’Emergenza Povertà - In una situazione straordinaria come l’arrivo della pandemia, anche il mondo dell’arte si è mobilitato per fornire il proprio sostegno economico a un sistema sanitario che ha minacciato il collasso e anche ai soggetti più fragili, che hanno patito di più le conseguenze della pandemia.

Gallerie, artisti, musei e case d’asta: ognuno ha tentato di contribuire come ha potuto durante l’Emergenza Sanitaria.

A quasi due anni dall’arrivo del Covid-19 siamo ancora e sempre di più di fronte all’Emergenza Povertà, che drammaticamente colpisce i minori oltre che gli adulti e si affianca a quella sanitaria.

Dal 2014 L’Albero della Vita, con il programma “Varcare la Soglia”, lavora su questo tema e oggi è presente in 6 città d’Italia.

In vista del prossimo Natale, 13 artisti hanno donato una loro opera o un servizio personalizzato, con l’obiettivo di aiutare a sostenere i soggetti più fragili, ovvero i bambini in povertà e le loro famiglie, che la pandemia ha messo in ginocchio e che spesso non riescono più a consumare regolarmente due pasti al giorno, ad avere una casa riscaldata o un’educazione adeguata e sana.
