The Prize

Take home this red and white Bullets jersey, an official store product, personalized with the name and number of American basketball legend Michael Jordan.

Born in New York on February 17, 1963, Jordan was a six-time NBA Champion, winning 2 three-peats with the Chicago Bulls, a term which indicates victory in the NBA Finals for 3 consecutive annual editions (91-92-93 and 96-97-98), a feat that has so far only been achieved by Jordan and Scottie Pippen, his teammate.

His biography on the National Basketball Association website states, "Michael Jordan is acclaimed as the greatest basketball player of all time."

On May 15, 1997, the Bullets presented a new name and logo to the public after having taken the decision to change the name "Bullets" because it was considered too violent, in addition to the fact that Washington was among the cities with the highest crime rate in America. In the same year the team moved to the new building, the MCI Center in Washington, now renamed Capital One Arena.

On September 25, 2001 Jordan decided to return to the court, and as owner of the Washington Wizards he also made his comeback as a player. Over the course of two seasons on the new team, Jordan received a $1 million payout, which he donated entirely to charity to help the families of the victims of the September 11 attacks.

Despite his age and an injury that kept him out for part of the 2001-2002 season, he took part in his 14th All-Star Game in Philadelphia. He ended his first season as a Wizard with an average of 22.9 points per game.
