About the artist
Joan Miró i Ferrà (20 April 1893 – 25 December 1983) was a Spanish painter, sculptor and ceramicist born in Barcelona. The life of the peasants, their everyday objects, folk art, the lights and colors of the Mediterranean are some of his sources of inspiration thanks to his deeply connected to his land. Later, his stays in Paris and frequent encounters with Picasso as well as leading figures in Dadaism and Surrealism determined his style and artistic choices.
