We have all seen Formula 1 drivers race round a circuit in cars built for incredible top speeds. This experience will give you the opportunity to not just watch, but to be in the car with Formula 1 legend David Coulthard as he drives around the track. You will witness first hand the incredible speed and handling of this supercar as it is tested to its limits by one of the best drivers in the world. Make sure you learn some tips from David, as you will be attempting to show off your own driving skills after. Let's see if you can beat the time that David sets for his quickest lap!
The Mercedes SLS-AMG epitomises high performance. From its AMG 6.3 litre V8 engine, the SLS AMG, a twenty-first century reincarnation of the legendary 300 SL, is guaranteed to thrill. With a top speed of 197 mph and 0 - 62 in just 3.8 seconds, be prepared to experience the drive of your life.
This incredible experience will take place on the 9th of January 2015 at Mercedes-Benz World, a facility at the historic Brooklands motor racing circuit in Weybridge, Surrey. The Brooklands race track was the brainchild of Hugh F. Locke King, and was the first purpose-built banked motor race circuit in the world. The auction package does not include travel or accommodation.

"Using the power of sport as a tool for social change"
Laureus Sport for Good’s goal is to help young people overcome the limitations imposed by challenging social issues including poverty, homelessness, war, violence, drug abuse, discrimination and AIDS. Laureus Sport for Good has supported a worldwide programme of over 150 sports related community projects that have been working to educate children, protect the vulnerable from illness and even bring people from divided communities together in friendship for over sixteen years.
This mission was inspired by the words of the first Patron of Laureus, Nelson Mandela. At the very first Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco 2000, he said: "Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair.”
Supporting the Foundation is the Laureus World Sports Academy, a dedicated team of 61 legendary sportsmen and sportswomen, who have all volunteered their services to this cause, acting as global ambassadors, visiting projects to encourage young people to participate in sport and to draw public attention to these problems. Academy Members include Michael Johnson, Sachin Tendulkar, Martina Navratilova, Boris Becker, Carles Puyol, Nadia Comaneci and Tony Hawk.
