About the artist
Pablo Ruiz y Picasso, simply known as Pablo Picasso (Malaga, October 25, 1881 - Mougins, April 8, 1973), was a Spanish painter, sculptor and lithographer, among the most influential of the 20th century. A crucial link between nineteenth-century tradition and contemporary art, Picasso was an innovative and multifaceted artist who left an indelible mark on the history of art for having been the founder of Cubism, together with Georges Braque.
