Grand Prix "Il Tuffo"
The Grand Prix “Il Tuffo” (The Dive) drawing is inspired by antique nineteenth century engravings, a baigneuse is preparing to dive into the immensity of the unknown.
Medium: Indian Ink protected by clear varnish
To celebrate the re-launch of the Grand Prix in its original version, created with wooden legs by Arne Jacobsen in 1957, the Fritz Hansen Store Milano is presenting a truly unique installation according the art direction of designer Diego Grandi and the collaboration of tattoo artist Pietro Sedda.
Fritz Hansen invited Diego Grandi to create a project that would characterize the re-launch of the Gran Prix chair with its wooden base, and decided to celebrate its authenticity writing a story directly on it’s “skin”. The shape of the chair evokes the graceful lines of a body, and the way to bring out its uniqueness with an intimate sign, unerasable, permanent. That is how Grandi decided to work with Pietro Sedda, one of the most renowned artists in the tattoo world, to take his skill from the skin to the chair, by drawing on 9 chairs (7 in wood, 2 in leather) interpreting the silhouette of the chair as if it were a human, a body to decorate.
This was a very symbolic and courageous act by the two creatives, which highlights the identity of each chair, with references to locations, memories, surreal dreams and fantasies. These elements that derive from Sedda’s imagination are highly ties to the nostalgia and the past, they represent a present that once was, and never will be again, exactly like those in the fairy tales that have an aura of sadness that permeates the whole story
These unique pieces will be exposed from September 11 to November 13 in the window of the store in 77 Corso Garibaldi.

Dynamo Camp is the first recreational therapy camp in Italy, and it welcomes kids from the ages of 6 to 17 for vacation and recreation. These children suffer from serious and chronic diseases such as diabetes, neurological diseases and onco-hematological diseases. The kids come from all over Italy and also from abroad. Additionally, Dynamo Camp offers tailor-made programs for families, and as of 2012, we offer programs for healthy siblings (Siblings), since it’s a well-known fact that the diagnosis of a disease not only affects the child involved but also affects the whole family. All our guests are welcome free of charge.
The objective of this recreational therapy, and the basis on which it is founded, is to engage our young guests in fun and captivating activities, which stimulate their capabilities and renew their self-esteem.
The program is made up of a variety of activities that are creative, expressive, fun and exciting. These activities are divided in two macro groups: sports and outdoor activities—such as climbing, horseback riding, archery, water recreational activities, circus activities—and indoor workshops and activities.
Projects such as Oasi Dynamo, Art Factory, Radio Dynamo and Dynamo Studios are an integrated part of the program.
Dynamo Camp is in Limestre in the region of Pistoia. The oasis is over 900 hectares. It is affiliated with WWF, Oasi Dynamo and is part of the SeriousFunChildren’s Network of the camps founded in 1988 by Paul Newman.
