Ferrari 312T3 of Gilles Villeneuve Polaroid & Enzo Ferrari Hand-Signed Card - Only 1 In The World
The Polaroid print is of Gilles Villeneuve's Ferrari 312T3. and was taken on the very special Polaroid 20x24 Land Camera.
Over the course of its production the 312T went through 6 major iterations, and the car you see here is the 312T3 – the third iteration that would be raced by Gilles Villeneuve and Carlos Reutemann. The T3 was an evolution of the earlier T2, it now featured a new chassis with a new monocoque structure and revised suspension.
Ferrari introduced the 312T3 for Villeneuve and Reutemann in time for the third race of the 1978 Formula One season. The plucky Italians still managed 5 wins over the course of the season – 4 for Reutemann, and 1 for the then-new F1 driver Villeneuve, and at his home Grand Prix in Canada no less.
Included in this unique edition is an extremely rare, original, hand signed note from Enzo Ferrari to the Ferrari 312T3 driver, Giles Villeneuve. Signed as always in his fountain pen, but in violet ink - a special colour that reminded him of his late father and was used for those closest to him.
- The print only is approx: 27 inches by 19 inches (69 cm by 48 cm)
- Printed on heavyweight 400 gsm silk paper with a gloss finish
- As you can see the Polaroid print and card have been mounted but not framed
- The card in the name of Gilles Villeneuve is hand-signed by Enzo Ferrari in the famous ink colour (purple)
- The card translates as (Enzo was born 18 February):
Thank you for the affectionate Happy Birthday wishes and many kind regards. Modena, February 1978
