13 masters of photography. 6 ambassadors of thought.

They are the images and voices of The New Humanity, the 2021 Lavazza Calendar that focuses on humans and their resilience in order to encourage an exchange of ideas around building a New Humanity and to look with hope to the future.

From names like Steve McCurry, David LaChapelle, Martin Schoeller, Patti Smith and Save the Children International CEO Inger Ashing comes an appeal to reawaken individual sensibilities, in the hope that out of this long and difficult period a society can be reborn that places value on solidarity, inclusion, tolerance and sustainable development, values that also guide the work of Lavazza Group.

A creative project available for the first time, in a limited edition, to members of the public all over the world.

The Cause

New Horizons, an opportunity for the most vulnerable young women and men in India.

The funds raised by The New Humanity will be donated to support New Horizons, one of the numerous projects backed by the Giuseppe e Pericle Lavazza Foundation through its almost twenty year partnership with Save the Children. New Horizons aims to combat the social and economic marginalisation of the new generations from the most vulnerable categories of the population in the area around Calcutta in India and make sure they have a better future. Lavazza has been supporting these sustainable development activities for the last three years through A Cup of Learning, the international programme run by the Lavazza Foundation in nine countries that provides training for socially disadvantaged young people seeking employment.

The initial phase of New Horizons, completed after three years in March 2020, has already produced important results and the funds raised by New Humanity 2021 will help finance the second phase of the project, with the aim of giving a chance to young people from 15 to 24 who live in situations of abuse and exploitation by offering them a path to employment. New Horizons has a particularly strong social impact among young women, encouraging gender equality: professional opportunities, adequate training and a decent wage give girls in particular a way to be more aware of their rights and become a model for so many other young women as they strive to change their lives.
