Marco Grimaldi was born in Udine in 1967 and graduated from the Bergamo Art School in 1985 and from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan in 1989, where he trained under Gottardo Ortelli.

His first exhibition was held at the S. Fedele Cultural Center in Milan in 1993 and was presented by Gottardo Ortelli. Between 1997 to 2001 he was selected by Paolo Minoli and Claudio Cerritelli to work on the project "From Brera to Jamaica" and "New Temperaments" which saw him become part of a team of eleven artists that took part in a series of exhibitions in Italy, Germany, Slovenia in both private galleries and public spaces.

In 2003 Grimaldi began a collaboration with the Cavenaghi Arte Gallery in Milan and his works entered the Casa per l'Arte Paolo Minoli Cantù Foundation collection, with Riccardo Zelatore.

Since 2012 he has collaborated with the New Morone Gallery in Milan and joined the VAF Stiftung collection. In 2017 he set up the exhibition "Il Posto lo Spazio" curated by Giuliano Zanchi at the Adriano Bernareggi Foundation in Bergamo and in 2018 the "Satelliti in Assetto Variabile" exhibition curated by Claudio Cerritelli at the Butti museum in Viggiù, Italy.

This lot is part of the #MolaMia artists initiative in support of Bergamo Hospital involving over 20 contemporary Italian artists who have joined forces for a fundraising campaign to fight the coronavirus emergency that has seriously affected the city and the province of Bergamo.
