The Prize

"Ernest & Rebecca, invito a pranzo" by Antonello Dalena.

Antonello began his career illustrating short stories for Disney (Mickey, Donald, Duck Tales, Zootropolis and Cars). Later, thanks to Alessandro Barbucci, he started to collaborate on the Franco-Belgian comic market. Barbucci then entrusted him with two albums in the “Monster Allergy” series for Éditions Soleil. Following that, he illustrated the first volume of “Lys”. At the same time as working on other volumes of “Lys”, together with Guillaume Bianco, he created his first regular series, “Ernest & Rebecca”. The series, published in Italy by Edizioni Star Comics, was awarded the Prix des Écoles at the Angoulême Festival in 2013. Thanks to a modern and recognizable style, somewhere between the classic Disney, manga and animation, Dalena is one of the most popular young comic artists on both the Italian and European markets.
