ANTONIO SAMMARTANO

Antonio Sammartano is a multidisciplinary artist whose work includes painting, installations and photography.

He has put his name to numerous personal exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He is founder of the Trapani Biennale.

He studied Architecture in Florence and Art in Milan at the Brera Academy. Antonio is the Founder of the Trapani Bienniale of Contemporary Art in Sicily. He is also founder of the Galleria Magazzini dell'Arte in Trapani, the MagnetikZone Contemporary Art Project and the International Association Art Process (Rome - Dublin).

Sammartano's painting is rooted in Mediterranean culture, blending light, color and instinct to bring together matter and antimatter. Antonio brings the viewer close to the dense spirituality of the pictorial materials. He feels the need to sediment, stratify and thicken architecture made of natural materials and memory.

He lives and works in Milan and Sicily.
