The Prize

A heart made of spruce wood by Enus Milesi.

Dimensions of work: 70x80 cm
Weight 10kg

A big wooden heart for research, donated by the Bergamo artist Enus Milesi to the SOS association (Solidarity in Oncology San Marco - San Pietro).

This original work, made of spruce from the Val Brembana and sculpted with a chainsaw, will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to support the activities of the association, which is committed to both offering a human touch to cancer patients' care and supporting scientific research.
"The idea of a heart for research came to me during the lockdown. I saw the hearts of the people of Bergamo "imprisoned" by suffering and I felt the need to do something" says Enus. “I had the chance to go out and walk and I came across a root that immediately made me think of a heart.
In front of the sculpture I have placed a railing, a symbol of the suffering from which we all hope to free ourselves. I'm donating this heart to SOS to make my contribution to research and to those in difficult conditions such as cancer patients".

Enus Milesi was born on March 4, 1966 and lives in Piazza Brembana. Raised in Ornica in the upper Brembana Valley, he began carving wood at a very young age. He uses a chainsaw to create unique and inimitable pieces. Some of these are part of private collections, others are found in the Bergamo valleys. For example, in Lenna, along the nature trail on the banks of the Brembo, there are more than 60 of his sculptures. In 2017, in Edolo (Bs), he compreted in the World Championship of speed wooden sculpting, winning the sixth place.
