Keith Haring Original Crack Down Concert Poster 1986 Benefit Print Urban Art Contemporary Street NYC

This is not a reprint it's an original poster from 1986, in a very large print of: 28"x40" (70x100cm).

Designed for the 1986 "Crack Down on Crack" concert in New York City.

The concert was organized to raise money to help fight New York's crack cocaine epidemic by famed concert promoter and producer Bill Graham.

Bill revisited his old Bronx neighborhood in August 1986 and was dismayed to find that the drug culture had effectively wiped out the local culture.

Famous New York artist Keith Haring designed the poster "CRACK DOWN" for the benefit concert at Madison Square Garden on Halloween 1986.

The set list for the concert was Santana, Run DMC, The Allman Brothers Band, Mick Taylor, Felix Cavaliere, Ruben Blades, Paul Butterfield, Crosby, Stills and Nash, and Olatunji.

About the Artist

Known for his colourful works and his iconic motifs such as the radiant baby and the barking dog, Keith Haring was a popular artist and activist who was part of the legendary New York art scene during the 1980s.

Music Support is a charity that helps peers who work in UK music and live events affected by mental ill-health and/or addiction.

Founded in 2016 by people from within the music industry, our team have all been impacted personally by these issues and have seen friends, colleagues and heroes lose their careers, families and even their lives.

We empower our peers to look after the wellbeing of their colleagues (and themselves) through training in Mental Health First Aid and Addiction and Recovery Awareness to prevent them reaching crisis point but, if required, our confidential Helpline, managed by industry peers with lived experience, is available Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm on 0800 030 6789. We offer everything from a non-judgmental listening ear service through to referrals to expert clinicians and care providers for mental health or addiction assessments, therapy and rehab. You are not alone.
